DSL cores is a new high-technology product of the top quality range of Sonoco.
DSL cores have a smoother surface without the typical waviness, generated by spiral combination, present on standard cores Their surface is smoothed through a particular procedure, which allows to decrease wrinkledness of the coreboard.
DSL cores is particularly suitable for the application of thick plastic films. DSL cores allow a regular winding also at the beginning of the roll. The lack of surface waviness assures perfect winding of the starting turns of the film, in so avoiding the well-known wrinkles problem on film close to the cores.
The quality of this product is perceivable by the eyes and by touch. It may be tested on its parameters of surface roughness and waviness with special equipment like:
- first properties for measuring core surface roughness on short length
- second properties for measuring core surface waviness on long length
DSL range is available with two different grades of external treatment.
According to the evolution of the market, Sonoco is able to offer a high qualitative product for special winding purposes.
